A gorgeous Victorian-revival walnut marble-top chest of three drawers. Each drawer has a nicely carved wooden frame surrounding a central burled accent atop which a pair of brass and black carved wood pendant pulls are set. A keyhole is set in the center of each drawer face. The topmost drawer is divided into four sections—three small compartments across the front and a large compartment in back. Beautifully carved columns with acanthus leaf motifs are set at each side of the front. This piece sits atop a sturdy plinth base. The top is a removable piece of nicely figured red and white marble with no cracks or chips. Stamped 1940. There is wear throughout commensurate with age and use—mainly chips across the bottom edge of the base.
